Description: Olea europaea (Olive) is a member of the Olive Family (Apocynaceae). William Aiton's 1812 Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, vol. 1, p. 21 recorded genus was native to the South of Europe and introduced to cultivation in Britain in 1570.
